Back-To-School Outfit Ideas

Back to school season is firmly upon us. The Target school supply session is stocked, back-to-school influencers are having a field day and outfit planning for the first week of school has taken up 95% of my time. This post is the fruit of my labor, as Autumn is the time for harvest I am harvesting my Summer styling labor and wearing all of my meticulously planned out looks. I am sharing my work in this post, feel blessed, my styling skills are something special.

My inspiration for these outfits is the New and Original Gossip Girl, specifically Blair Waldorf and Audrey Hope. I also am an Astrid Sloan fanatic and I think her style is just fabulous, she mixes modern preppy with super trendy and it’s just so chic. Of course, Cher Horowitz from clueless is an eternal-style legend. I also take influence from classic figures such as Audrey Hepburn and some more on-trend influencers such as Devon Lee Carlson.

Outfit One: Pretty in Pink

This outfit is girly preppy heaven. A bubblegum pink blazer paired with a cream-colored polo, and baby pink tutu. Part Carrie Bradshaw, part Cher Horowitz, all perfection.

Blazer: Thrifted

Polo: My Mom

Tutu: Tucker and Tate (available on eBay and Poshmark)

Outfit Two: Early 2000’s

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this look. Very 2004 on the red carpet. But I think it could be fun to bring the preppy style to a hot day.

Tank-Top: Old Navy

Jeans: Thrifted

Tie: My Dad

Outfit Three: Nantucket School Girl

I LOVE a white short with long sleeve sweater look. It's so preppy and chic and makes me feel like an east coast girl

Shorts: My Mom

Outfit Four: Gym Class

This look is perfect for a super hot day where you want to be comfy but also have that private school look, literally.

Top: Thrifted (it is an actual school uniform top)

Skirt: Thrifted (forever 21) (this stretchy skirt is what gives it this Gym Class look.)

Outfit Five: Casual Fridays

I love a juxtaposition in an outfit, some long jean shorts with a suit vest is just that. It has a stylish feel but is also super comfortable and casual.

Vest: Thrifted

Shorts: Thrifted

ANNOUNCEMENT: Ivy League chic is this year's style theme, I am calling it. Hopefully, this post had some good inspiration as to how to make all your preppy girl dreams come true.
