Outfits of the Week

Every Sunday I pick out my outfits for the week, I like to do this because it minimises decision fatigue and allows me to be sure that my outfits make me feel confident and comfortable. Something that would not always be possible if I was picking out my outfits the night before or even sometimes in the morning. I want to do a post in the future all about my process for picking out an outfit and my criteria to decide if I like an outfit or not. Also, I live in Southern California, so our winters are pretty warm, that’s why my outfits may seem a little to light for harsh winter weather. And my school dress code is minimal, so some of these outfits break dress code at other schools. Here is what I wore in a week.

Monday

On Monday I knew I wanted to wear my new pleather pants, so I balanced the tightness of my pleather plants with a vintage oversized wool blazer, I liked the black and grey dark look that was going on so I decided to top it off with a simple cropped heather grey long sleeve from Top-Shop. For jewelry I kept it simple with some small silver hoops and my Celtic Cross necklace. I completed the look with some black booties, to elongate my legs as they blended in with my pants to create a seamless look.

Tuesday

For Tuesday I was feeling very Emily Ratajkowski vibes so I decided to go with some low waisted pleated/ dress pants and a white ribbed baby tank with some beautiful lace detailing (I wear this top all the time). To add my own twist I threw on a vintage pleather jacket (i’m really in a pleather mood this week aren’t I?). I did all gold jewelry and a low messy bun to accessorise and then topped off the look by further dressing down the pants with some black converse.

Wednesday

One of my favorite things to do is to wear a super basic piece (such as a brandy mellvile skirt) and add my own style to it. I styled this super basic green skirt with a band-tee that I got 2 years ago from Amazon for band tee day at school, then I tied it off with a thrifted blazer to add some structure. I wore an emerald necklace to tie in the green in the skirt, rose gold hoops and brown boots to tie in the brown blazer.

Thursday

IMG_5551.jpeg

On Thursday I was all about being comfortable, so I wore my favorite low rise boot cut jeans (so comfortable) they were my moms but luckily I found a link, they are just the best and so flattering. A comfy Ann Taylor sweater, and white converse. However I did want to add a pop of color so I threw on a blue necklace.

Friday

IMG_7024.jpeg

For Friday I wanted to put my own spin on the simple look of a dress shirt and black jeans. So I wore this simple white button down and quarter tucked it into a black skirt. To dress this outfit even more up I chose to wear my under the knee black boots. For jewelry I wore a locket I got custom on ETSY.

Also: I try my best to not support fast fashion brands such as Brandy Melville and Zara, however my Zara pants were sustainably made and I no longer support Brandy Melville, for many reasons, such as lack of size inclusivity. I hope you enjoyed this post and possibly even got some style inspiration, thank you for reading
