What I Wear in a Week

Im bringing it back!

Writing outfits of the week post was one of my favorite things to do at the beginning of this year, but as soon as we went into quarantine the regularity of me getting ready and putting an outfit on everyday went down-hill.

But, as of recently I have been getting ready and putting on an outfit im proud of every day, and as people in school only see my from the neck up on zoom, I figure I need to document my looks in some way!

My inspiration for this week was academia, private school girl, comfy for sitting in the same spot all day chic. Lets see what I came up with…

Monday: I wore my infamous thrifted slip (Infamous as I don’t remember the last time a week went by where I DIDNT wear this slip), tucked into some jeans with my favorite green blazer for some structure and texture. For shoes for this look I wore my thrifted black heels and for a bag I went for my vintage coach baguette. This look is very simple, and almost an outfit ‘outline’ that I can always fall back on without fail.

Tuesday: Another outfit blueprint that I always feel comfortable reaching for: a short skirt with a sweater layered over top. I went for two different shades of purple in this look: a lavender and a periwinkle blue. I love a look like this for a autumn in California because you can still feel in the season through the sweater on top but you are prepared for the weather as you are wearing a short skirt. For this look I just threw on some fuzzy white heels and my go to canvas bag to keep the look casual.

Wednesday: I decided to mix patterns, my favorite detailed (vintage from London from my friend Sasha, y’all know the story) with my favorite plaid jumper. To add some solid color and keep up with the schoolgirl look I was already giving off I paired my thrifted Mary-janes with some white socks and for a bag I grabbed my moms Kate Spade cross body, just because I felt like it went well.

Thursday: So, I outfit repeated. LIZZY MCGUIRE YOU ARE AN OUTFIT REPEATER. But, not entirely. So this outfit (white beaded top, black skirt, black boots) I originally wore about a year ago, and I really really loved, so I decided to wear it again, but this time with the addition of some color through my peacock green mock neck tank top.

Friday: The sweater vest trend is the best, I just love it. I wore it this Friday layered over top a thrifted white dress shirt with a fun collar and a pair of thrifted low waisted Levis. For shoes I wore my vintage coach heels and canvas bag, again, I just wore the canvas bag.
