Fashion ‘Crimes’ You Should Commit

  1. Low-rise jeans: Although this 2000’s fashion staple is slowly but surely coming back into style, there is still an army of low rise jeans haters out there who call low-risers appalling. But if you want the truth, these jeans are fun, relaxed, and stylish, and I think all those opposed to this style need to do some serious self reflecting.

2. Double Oversized: Many people love to pair a pair of baggy jeans with a tight tank or a oversized tee with a pair of biker shorts (both of those styles I love) but what many DONT enjoy is a double oversized look (otherwise known as big pants big shirt.) I think this look is not only SO COMFY but also super cute, especially when you’re doing a oversized-pleated-pant-oversized-complementary-blazer look.

3. Socks and heels: Now if this said socks and SANDALS instead of socks and heels you would be hearing a different story from me. But there’s something about a nice sock (I’m not talking about your Hanes no shows or nike running socks, I’m talking about a sock that has some purpose aside function) paired with a nice strappy open toed heel. A perfect way to wear this would be paired with a short skirt and any top.

4. Undergarmets that show: LISTEN UP!! Women’s don’t need to wear bras! They CAN wear bra’s if they want to, but its not a necessity especially when the only purpose is someone other than their owns comfort. Now, as I mentioned in my previous post regarding trends. Wearable lingerie is EVERYWHERE and I’m here for it. A bra OVER a tee or even a little whale tail with some cute kids printed underwear: im a huge fan.

5. Over-accessorizing: A multi-necklace, multi-earing look never hurt anyone. Although I think sometimes too-much accessorizes really is TOO MUCH, for the most part I think accessorizes are a great way to bring a new and different layer of style and fashion to any outfit.

6. All black = fashion: Sorry, no. Throwing on a black tee, blazer and jeans and calling it style doesnt fly here. I love an all black look, don’t get me wrong. But its NOT the end all be all to any fashion and style crisis, and its always better to heir on the side of expressing your personality.

7. Never wear sneakers and a dress: Although this opinion is fairly outdated, there are some people who still believe it, and I need to set the record straight. You have a dress you love BUT its a LITTLE to formal to wear on the daily, pair it with a pair of converse and BOOM, you have the perfect dressed down look for any occasion.

8. Mixing prints is tacky: Mixing prints is everything. As long as you do it in moderation, and keep the NUMBER of prints in an outfit to a minimum there absolutely nothing wrong with a little chetah print here, plaid there, polka-dot there.

9. Double Denim: The Canadian Tuxedo is always in style. Change my mind, You cant.
