AUTUMN TREND ALERT

ITS OFFICIALLY THE BEST SEASON!!!! ITS FALL!!! with the nice cool weather and fun holidays the fashion in fall is undeniably great. for this weeks post I am going to be talking all about what I think the fall trends are going to be. I’ve read other articles, scoured vogue runway, and my own brain and this is what I think all of the most wearable, attainable and on trend styles of fall are going to be. You might also notice that in the pictures I chose there is as a lot of overlap between the trend, that is because pretty much all of these trends can be mixed and matched all together.

  1. Neutral Tones: Neutral tones have always been an autumnal trend but this year I think its going to be extra on trend because rather than throwing a neutral bag or pant into a colorful outfit I think neutral tones are going to be integrated into our outfit rotation through monochrome neutral looks.

2. Earrings Galore: A trend that I think will continue from summer is stacked hoops and studs on the ears. I love love love the look of multiple piercings up the ear and this summer specifically the look of low bun, layered necklaces and stacked earnings has become a staple on all of our Pinterest feeds. This is a trend that I think will continue through autumn with the earrings up the ear, 3 or 4 necklaces layered over a sweater or turtleneck.

3. Intense Collars: This might be my favorite trend that Im going to talk about in this post. I LOVE an intense collar. This is a very on-trend-on-the-runway trend that’s been building up for the past couple seasons and is really coming to fruition this autumn. Another reason I love this trend is that (as with everything im talking about) it can be found so easily in the thrift and vintage stores. All of my favorite elaborate and intense collared shirts come from the thrift store so this trend is super easy to incorporate into your closet in an affordable and sustainable way.

4. Slip Dresses and other wearable Lingerie: Wearing a nice lacy bra or bodysuit under a pair of baggy jeans and nice warm coat is SUCH a good look. Slip dresses are also coming into style in the same way, on a warmer autumn day a nice slip dress layered under a coat or jacket is going to not only be super on cute but super in style. The pictures of looks that incorporate this trend from streetwear or on the runway speak for themselves on how chic and fun this trend is.

5. Boots under dresses: When I say boots under dresses I mean a longer dress or skirt  over a pair of under the knee boots. This trend has off the runway vibes but its completely wearable and casual. This trend as almost a little strange as it feels wrong to have a skirt that goes longer than where your boots start but I PROMISE its so cute and you are going to have everyone telling you that they love your outfit.

6. Leather (or pleather) coats: For this trend I am pulling from the “depop girl” style. A longer leather (or pleather) coat/jacket is something that i’ve seen on people with that super cute tik tok/ depop style’s instagrams and feeds and I think its SO CUTE. Just remember, if you find a coat of ANY TYPE at the thrift store and you don’t need it for your own warmth/ winter necessities leave it there for someone who might need it :).

7. High turtlenecks: UNROLLED TURTLENECKS THAT GO UP TO YOUR EARLOBES are everywhere on the runway and we all need to be wearing them. With a bun and those earrings I talked about earlier. Ugh, so cute, so stylish and most importantly SO AUTUMNAL.

8. Private School Chic: Sweater vests, plaid skirts, knee high talks, headbands, polo shirts, jumpers I LOVE IT ALL. Dark and light academia styles have been my favorite   for so long and I am SO EXCITED that they are finally coming into trend.

9. Geometric styles: I just feel like I need to preface this trend by letting you know that WE ARE IN THE 70’S when it comes to fashion. Geometric patterns on sweaters, tank tops, pants, skirts, shoes, bags. THEY’RE EVERYWHERE AND I LOVE IT.

10. Fringe: Ever since Diana Silvers wore that fringe jacket in Booksmart an impending trend has been fringe and now, its finally here. On boots or bag or even a jacket fringe is going to be everywhere this fall. The main reason that I have incorporated this trend into this post is because of the Prada show, the looks that incorporated fringe into that show were SO beautiful so I had no choice but to include it.
