  • SHOWS

  • The Politician

    • So, I sort of have a thing for political dramas, books, TV shows, movies, it's about the inner workings of political campaigns and candidates count me in. I wrote a full review of the Politician so if you want to read more about all my thoughts on the show check that out here.

  • The Queens Gambit

    • Like the rest of the world, I watched and loved The Queens Gambit. It amazes me how original ideas are still out there. The show is captivating, funny, serious, heartwrenching and it's just oh-so GOOD.

  • YOU

    • Although this show has some interesting themes and the public perception of the show is clearly influenced through misogyny, that doesn't change the fact that the show is flat out entertaining. It's a captivating drama full of twists and turns and it's easy to blow through in one day. As long as you acknowledge that the way you view Joe when watching the show, and the way you’re compelled to root for him is wrong then the show is a harmless entertaining watch.

  • PODCASTS:

  • @Lexie: A recent launch, the show is perfect to accompany with late afternoon walks, it truly feels like you are sitting in the room with host Lexie Lombard as she has honest, funny, and interesting conversations with herself.

  • Betches Sup: This podcast single-handedly got me through the election season. Every morning when I was getting ready, or every night as I was cooking dinner I would listen to this podcast. It’s funny, interesting and tells you everything you need to know about what's going on in the world.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Tik Tok: Embarrassing, I’m aware. But without Tik Tok, I seriously have no idea how I would have gotten through the many long months that I barely left my room trying to stay safe from a deadly pandemic.

Makeup/ skincare

  • Cera Ve

    • I had quite the skin drama this summer, and the thing that saved my skin was Cera Ve products. Bringing my routine back to the BASICS. I cleanse my skin with the foaming cleanser, then moisturize with the PM face lotion, and if it's the morning I will put on a bit of sunscreen. Essentially I need to start a Cera Ve fan account for all they have done for my skin

    • Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara

      • Whenever I get compliments on my lashes it's ALWAYS when I'm wearing this mascara. The best part of this mascara (aside from how good it makes your lashes look) is how it doesn't make your lashes all crunchy like most mascaras and it keeps your lashes nice and soft.

  • Ava Hair Masque

    • This year I dyed my hair from blonde to brunette for 2 main reasons. One: my roots were destroyed thanks to quarantine and Two: My hair needed to heel. Even if you do it right, bleach is never really GOOD for your hair. And the Ava Hair mask helped turn my hair around this year.

Wearing

  • Kitten Heels

    • Works for any outfit, super comfortable, versatile, no choice but to stan.

  • Business Casual

    • Although many people are confused about what this means, to me it means a blazer with a bra top and dress pants with a slip dress tucked in. Dressing up casual items and dressing down formal items. When you aim for a business casual look you are well dressed for any occasion and when done right a business casual look is chic, effortless, and just absolutely perfect.

  • Pheobe Philos Celine

    • Yeah. It's just so good. I live and die in her collections.

Reading

  • Burn for Burn Trilogy

    • I blew through these books (for the second time) in a week. A great beach or by the pool read they are interesting and captivating, but still light romantic and funny.

  • E Lockhart

    • Specifically Genuine Fraud and We Were Liars, three words to describe those books are thrilling, disturbing, and incredible.

  • UNpregnant

    • What I loved about this book (now movie) is the destigmatization of abortion that the book does, almost unintentionally. It's a book about friendship and sexuality and comedy and there just so happens to be an abortion that takes place. It's not the center stage topic but rather just another plot point. And although the legalization of abortion is crucial, destigmatization is also crucial, and I think books like Unpregnat are how we are going to do that.

  • Lisa Jewell

    • HER WRITING!! It's captivating and real and almost… grotesque??!! When reading her books you feel like you are digging into something and it's honestly quite satisfying. Her mystery thriller suspense novels are the kind that you can figure out JUST BEFORE she reveals the truth, so you feel proud of yourself. But fair warning, every book ends with a disturbing twist that is never quite resolved and will leave you THINKING. Which if you’re at all like me, you love.

Thats it! These are my 2020 favorites, I hope you enjoyed this post. These products, books, shows singlehandedly got me through this year, so I hope you can enjoy these items as much as I do! <33
