Spring Trend Alert
Its officially march! Which means in my brain (regardless of what the calendar says) its spring time! I am super excited to see what the fashion trends turn out to be this spring but for now here is my trend predictions for this spring. I looked over all of the Spring/ Summer 2020 shows and here is what I think we will see the most of this spring. I really loved the Brandon Maxwell SS RTW 2020 show so a lot of my predictions will come based off that show, however I made sure everything was pretty across the board. Without further ado here is my spring 2020 fashion trend predictions.
Low Waisted Jeans:
I would like to say that I single handedly brought this trend back, and I will take credit for it, however I think we have the High Fashion it girls street style and Chanel/ Brandon Maxwell SS 2020 RTW shows for this trend. Ever since the early 2000’s low waisted jeans craze, the style has been boycotted and in years since waist lines have been rising, however I think this spring low waisted jeans will make a splash.
Sheer Tops
From Gucci to Prada to Saint Laurent, almost every (if not every) show this SS 2020 RTW fashion there was a sheer top. I am all for these styles, they can be worn layered for a more conservative look, as a cover up to the beach or just alone on the streets. As I talked about in my in my 12 items everyone needs in their closet post a black sheer top is must, so I am excited that sheer tops will be on trend this spring.
Busy Prints:
BUSY! BUSY! BUSY! Just like sheer tops, busy prints were everywhere!! From Marni to Carolina Herrera, busy prints were all over the runway this past September. And I think we can expect them to be a huge trend this spring. I see busy prints trickling down into popular stores such as Urban Outfitters and becoming one of those things we just see everywhere.
Off the shoulder formal wear:
It was this specific Saint Laurent off the shoulder mini dress that inspired me predicting this becoming a trend this spring. I honestly don’t know how popular this trend will be, however I look forward to continuing to see it on the runway and on the red carpet in formal looks this spring.
70s are back:
The 70s have BEEN back as of this fall, and 70’s influenced style will continue into this spring and summer, with bell bottoms, hot pants and bra tops being very popular in street style. 70’s styles will have a large impact on everything we will be wearing this spring.
Women In Suits:
I am all for breaking down gender roles in fashion, so the idea of women rocking a pantsuit is something I am all for. McQueen has been doing some stunning suits recently and both pictures above are from recent collections. Overall this suit will be one that can be dressed down as street style or done up for formal events. Whichever way suits are styled, I am very excited about this trend, this spring.
