Recently, as a form of self-care and taking care of my mental health I have been taking extra care in my outfits. There is something SO therapeutic to fully getting ready and putting on a specific hair, makeup and outfit look every day. And so naturally, as I have been taking extra care with my outfits every day, I also have been spending ungodly amounts of time making Pinterest boards and developing extra love for all my style icons. So, I thought I would make a post dedicated to all of them and why I love them. (in no particular order)

  1. Devon Lee Carlson: https://www.instagram.com/devonleecarlson/

    1. I mean, can ANYONE even make a list of style icons without featuring the queen herself? Devon is always ahead of the trend and is never afraid to make a fashion statement. I think the reason that Devon's style is so popular (other than the fact that her outfits are objectively great) is the fact that she wears everything with such confidence and just like this aura of (for lack of a better word) swagger around her. I’m a FIRM believer in never letting the clothes wear you, and that what matters most is how you wear something and Devon always wears everything with the utmost power.

  2. Nyc Bambi: https://www.instagram.com/nycbambi/

    1. Christie is my fashion bible. If I’m ever lost when picking out an outfit, I turn to her. She is the queen of muted tones and neutrals, which I love and is a big part of my style. She rocks that dark academia look and is always sporting the look of a stylish girl running through the city. Some of her closet essentials are big coats, thick turtlenecks, baggy dress pants, and white collared shirts. Christie's whole life is aesthetic, and so it's only natural her style followed suit.

  3. Orion Carloto: https://www.instagram.com/orionvanessa/

    1. Orion just NAILS that look of the white button-down shirt with blue jeans which I love. She also has a killer 70’s shag haircut which I am jealous of and I desperately want but am also terrified of. She does the chunky jewelry look with such chicness and I always look at her jewelry layering techniques for inspiration because that is a skill I am trying to develop. I look to Orion when I wanna wear neutrals, feel cute, but also be super comfy.

  4. She’s Far Out: https://www.instagram.com/shesfarrout/

    1. She’s Far Out is one of those Instagram curation mood board accounts full of aesthetic reposts. The looks on the account are always classy and when I need inspiration for a more formal, night out type of look or when I just want to see a surplus of silky dresses I always turn to that account. There are many other accounts like this one that I love but She’s Far Out is the first outfit mood board account I encountered of the sort, and so it will always have a special place for it in my heart.

  5. Lucia Zolea: https://www.instagram.com/luciazolea/

    1. AHHH. I mean I don't know if there is anything I can say about this Instagram account/ brand/ curated selection other than just go look at it yourself and understand the beauty. So much vintage, so many cardigans, so many suits, so much gorgeous jewelry, so much floral prints. The clothes on the site are very pricey so I’ve never bought anything, but I look with yearning eyes.

  6. Astrid Sloan from The Politician: https://whatshereally.com/wore/how-to-dress-like-astrid-sloan-from-the-politician

    1. I’ve already written an article on Astrid and how much I love her style. But in short, she always brings the collar drama, is the queen of some gorg colored tights, and just meets preppy with trendy in ALL the right ways.

So, those are my top style icons at the moment! I hope you like!! As always dm me @whatshereally if you have any ideas for future posts. Thank you for reading <33
